Attendees have the opportunity to engage with a panel working in different roles in the tech industry as they share their “boots on the ground” experiences and answer your questions. Gong is joined on the panel by Stephanie Castaños, Relationship Manager at Resilient Coders, a non-profit organization that trains people of color for high growth careers as software engineers, and connects them with employment opportunities; Pariss Chandler, Creator of the #BlackTechTwitter hashtag and movement, Founder of Black Tech Pipeline and Front-End Developer at G2i; and Cass Hebert, Product Designer at BondLink, helping governments and other municipal entities save money on bond sales and communicate more efficiently with their investors.
Moderator is Amma Marfo, a dynamic and sought-after speaker on topics such as leadership, group dynamics, and learning. She speaks on college and university campuses across the country, at regional and national conferences, and has partnered with organizations like HubSpot, Wayfair, Startup Institute Boston, and General Assembly.
The organizer is Jed Hammel, Video Director and Editor at Volta Visual. He is passionate about creating unique experiences, continual learning, and believes in the power of bringing people together. He writes a monthly blog, “How to Network Without Actually Networking,” and has a podcast, “That’s What I’m Saying.” Lately, he's been directing videos for Techstars, Blackstone Launchpad, and for a female-led LBTQ rock band.
Gong was previously UX/UI Designer at Lovepop, the custom wedding invitation experience which includes a consumer-facing user flow for creating custom invitations as well as a backend studio tool for card designers. She was also UX/UI Designer for Clora Inc. She has a background in customer on-boarding, program management, and nutrition.
