Neasham is presenting on how Lola.com provides companies the visibility and control they want, while giving travelers the amazing experience they need. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in human geography from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2009 where she also was captain of the women’s army lacrosse team. After five years in the Army, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, she joined Lola.com as a startup in 2015. She was drawn to the challenges of a startup and wanted to be part of a team that inspired her to be her best while assisting in the creation of a product and company that aimed to improve people’s lives. As a LeadHer Mentor, Pappas is sharing what Lola.com is doing to connect and encourage female advancement into leadership at Lola.com and throughout the industry. The Phocuswright Women's Leadership Initiative session explores research from a World Economic Forum study and results of a survey of Phocuswright stakeholders and includes a panel discussion around the attributes and skills in demand for travel technology companies and what is being done to grow female leadership.
Pappas is an Internet and travel industry growth expert who is a highly regarded futurist with deep knowledge of travel technologies, distribution, media and the ability to identify the development of trends years before they become global. She was the first professional analyst to cover Internet travel in 1996 and a key player in the launch of online travel services in the mid 90's. Pappas was the Global Director and Head of Travel at Microsoft and led all commercial development efforts in the Online Services Division including, Farecast, Search and MSN Travel. She joined Microsoft in April 2008 with the acquisition of Farecast where she led Farecast Business Development.
