New Study: Delta is the Best Airline for Corporate TravelBy Mike Baker
Survey reveals that the major airlines are improving, but Delta still reigns supreme.
Delta is the highest-ranked airline for corporate travel in every category, according to new research from Business Travel News. This is the ninth consecutive year that Delta has led the pack, but the company’s reign may be nearing its end – United’s significant improvements may mean it’s narrowing the gap.
The study, which surveyed 705 respondents from travel manager and buyer members of the BTN Research Council, ranks the major airlines in 11 corporate travel-specific categories, including services & amenities, complaint resolution, value, and quality of reporting tools. For the ninth consecutive year, Delta scored the highest overall, this year with a score of 4.39.
But headwinds may be in store. United showed the biggest gains in 2019, improving its overall score by 0.27 points.
“We took a scientific view in how to approach the marketplace and identified product gaps in the corporate space,” SVP of worldwide sales Jake Cefolia told the news source. “We set about closing those gaps this year.”
Overall, all four of the major airlines showed improvements since 2018, and consumer sentiment around corporate travelers is consistently rising.
But, at least for now, Delta remains the standard for corporate travel.
