Lola.com To Be 2019 Host Company of NE Venture Capital Association's Hack.Diversity Program
Lola.com joins other New England tech innovators to support workforce development initiative for minority workers pursuing careers in STEM
BOSTON – Mar. 6, 2019 – Lola.com, the Agile Travel Management™ company that provides a super simple way to manage, book and report on business travel, has become a proud 2019 Host Company of New England Venture Capital Association’s Hack.Diversity program, a workforce development initiative for high-skilled minority workers pursuing careers in STEM fields. The program is the recent recipient of a $75,000 grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI).
“Workforce development challenges in tech are very real, and supporting efforts that strengthen the talent pool and diversity in the STEM workforce is an important priority for Lola.com,” said Stacey Scott, VP Travel Services & People Operations at Lola.com. “Hack.Diversity has realized truly impressive accomplishments in a short time, so we are delighted to join in the support of its continued efforts.”
The Hack.Diversity program is boosting tremendous success in its first two years with 100 percent of its full-time eligible 2018 Fellows now currently employed in the tech sector in New England. Since its inception in 2017, the program has tripled its Host Company roster from six to 15 and increased its talent pool from 16 to 50 Fellows.
Lola.com is joined by other new Host Companies in 2019, including Veson Nautical, Asics Digital, Drift, BookBub and Carbon Black. Returning Host Companies from 2017 and 2018, include HubSpot, Rapid7, Vertex, Wayfair, athenahealth, DraftKings, Beth Israel Deaconess, Liberty Mutual and WordStream.
