Uncertainty in the face of COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on the travel industry as well as events and conferences; causing many business travelers to reconsider non-essential travel and, in many cases, to seek refunds or waivers for travel they’ve already booked. Many of the major airlines have created new COVID-19-specific policies that make it easier and more flexible for travelers to make penalty-free changes to their reservations. Major hotel brands have graciously followed suit and are easing up on traditionally strict cancellation policies.
